Authorizing your Google Analytics (GA) account with NS8 Protect™ (formerly Complete Storefront Protection) will allow you to prevent low-scoring traffic from being added to your retargeting audience. This will prevent bots and other invalid traffic from draining your marketing budget and NS8 displays your estimated savings on the NS8 Protect Dashboard Retargeting Fraud Card.
Before authorizing your GA account with NS8, you will want to configure your GA account with your eCommerce platform. To configure your GA account with your platform, please refer to their documentation.
If you do not already have a GA account, visit the GA main page to set one up.
To begin enabling your GA account, first select Settings from the Settings/Support menu.
You will then scroll down to the Google Analytics Integration setting. If you have not authorized an account already, the setting will look like the image below. Only one GA account can be linked to one NS8 Protect account at a time. If you change your account, you will need to follow these steps to authorize the new account.
You will next click on the green Click here to authorize button.
If you are not already signed into your Google account, you will be prompted to sign in on the screen that pops up.
Once signed in, you will be prompted to confirm NS8's access to your GA account.
You will need to click the blue ALLOW button to continue. On the next screen you will be asked to pick the GA account you are linking. In most cases, you will only have one account available. If you have several sites you manage with the same GA account, you will need to make sure you select the correct option.
The pop up screen will now close and the Google Analytics Integration setting will change to match the images below, with the correct web property ID shown. You can confirm the property ID with your GA account.
